📺 The Nashville Christmas Parade 🎄
Since 1927, The Nashville Christmas Parade has been a staple of Middle Tennessee’s holiday festivities, featuring celebrity performances, elaborate floats, helium balloons, mass performing groups featuring singers, dancers and choirs; and marching bands from around the country.
Celebrated on the first Saturday of each December, the 1-mile route begins near the Woodland Street Bridge and 1st Avenue North, proceeds down 1st Avenue, continues up Broadway and ends near 8th Avenue just past Bridgestone Arena. Referred to as the “Musical Mile”, the parade route is flanked by tens of thousands of spectators and ‘Music City’s’ world-famous live music venues.
Grand Marshals of past parades have included Kelly Clarkson, Vince Gill and Jana Kramer, with performances by Dolly Parton, Ty Herndon, and Ashlee Simpson.
The Nashville Christmas Parade considers Marching Bands, Choirs, and Dance Groups for participation in their televised production. Choral & Dance Groups participate as part of organized, mass performance groups, while Marching Bands perform on an individual basis.
Choral & Dance Directors will receive production related materials for song and choreography weeks prior to the parade. A mandatory rehearsal for mass performance groups takes place on the Friday prior to the parade on the following day.
