Packing List
THE FOLLOWING PACKING LIST ITEMS ARE SUGGESTIONS FOR STUDENTS, TEACHERS, PARENTS AND CHAPERONES.
ASK YOURSELF THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS:
★ What time of year am I traveling and what is the usual weather like?
★ How long will I be there?
★ Am I traveling by motor coach or plane (or both!)?
- If you’re traveling by plane for less than 5 days, we suggest only bringing a carry-on bag.
★ Do I get cold or warm easily?
- IF – Spring or Fall, we recommend wearing layers.
- IF – Summer, bring sunscreen protection, a good hat, and drink plenty of water.
- IF – Winter, bring boots or good weather resistant shoes depending on your destination.
**COMFORTABLE SHOES ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT THING FOR A SUCCESSFUL TRIP AND PACK LIGHT!
CONSIDER THE FOLLOWING REGARDING BAGS:
★ travel pack or shoulder bag?
★ daypack (fanny pack? purse?)
★ luggage lock(s)?
NEEDED DOCUMENTS & RELATED ITEMS:
★ government issued ID, passport, visas, extra passport photos, vaccination certificates
★ copies of important documents
- Email a scanned copy to yourself as backup.
★ travel tickets
★ charge & ATM cards, cash
★ security pouch (worn under clothes)
CLOTHES:
★ shirts/blouses/tops
★ pants/skirts/shorts
★ socks
★ undergarments
★ long (lightweight) underwear
★ swimsuit
★ dark (cardigan) sweater
★ rainwear (umbrella?)
★ parka, coat, or equivalent
★ long T-shirt or long sleeve shirt
★ pajamas (fleece or flannel if cold)
★ necktie, scarf, shawl, headband, bandana
★ gloves/mittens
★ sun hat/knitted cap, hat clip
★ 1 pair of dressy shoes
★ 1 pair of walking shoes/boots
★ flip flops or sandals
★ belt(s)
PERSONAL HYGIENE ITEMS:
★ toothbrush, cap, toothpaste, floss
★ deodorant
★ comb and/or hairbrush
PERSONAL HYGIENE ITEMS (OPTIONAL):
★ shampoo, bar soap & container
- Remember if flying, only use travel-sized containers that are 3.4 ounces/100ml or less. Pack them in a sealed quart-sized Ziploc® bag.
- Hotels do have shampoo and soap if needed.
★ antibacterial wipes
★ any prescription medications with original labels in container
★ allergy medications
★ vitamins
★ epi pen
★ diarrhea treatment of choice
★ infection treatment of choice
★ sunscreen, lip balm
★ tweezers
★ bandages (& other first aid items)
