After almost two years of a seemingly never-ending global pandemic, it is safe to say the travel experience itself has completely changed. As a result, planning for travel experiences has become a much more difficult task, but Super Holiday Tours has faced that challenge head-on!
In early February of 2022, Super Holiday Tours faced one of its biggest logistical travel challenges in the pandemic-era — hosting 198 Students & Chaperones from the South American country of Chile for ten days & nine nights in Orlando, Florida.
Split between four groups, these middle & high school-aged students participate in a variety of educational workshops at Universal Orlando Resort, Walt Disney World Resort, Kennedy Space Center, and SeaWorld. These students built upon their educational experiences with campus visits to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Full Sail University, and Florida Polytechnic University, and experienced first-hand American ingenuity of the developing technologies that have brought Central Florida to the forefront of innovation.
One of the highlights of their experience in Central Florida was a uniquely curated educational experience developed in collaboration with the NBA’s Orlando Magic, including enjoying a home game on January 30th at the Amway Center.
“It was such a pleasure to work with all of the students & teachers to share a behind-the-scenes look at what we do at the Orlando Magic,” Tourism Account Executive, Danielle Pechous shared. “We loved creating unique experiences and memories that will last a lifetime.”
Following health & safety protocols set by the universities and theme parks was key in ensuring that all of the students & chaperones were able to maximize their time spent in Central Florida. By following those protocols and implementing different strategies to ensure the health & well-being of the group, every student & chaperone enjoyed their experience without a single individual testing positive for a COVID-related sickness.
Once their time in Orlando had come to an end, all travelers were required to complete a PCR Rapid-Antigen COVID test in order to clear customs from the United States, and return home to Chile. You can read more about PCR testing, and how Super Holiday Tours has navigated these testing requirements for student groups here.
While the pandemic has been tough on the tour and travel industry, it has also become a learning opportunity for Super Holiday Tours, and our various strategic partners. Hosting an international group to the United States for an extended period of time during the pandemic era may have seemed like a daunting task, but the expertise and knowledge from Super Holiday Tours enabled us to deliver a world class travel experience from beginning to end.
