🌸 THE NATIONAL CHERRY BLOSSOM PARADE

Due to high demand and limited spaces, the Marching Band application for the 2025 National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade closed on April 15, 2024. 

Applications for the 2026-2028 Marching Bands are open and applications for 2025-2026 Parade Specialty Units are also open. 

The National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade is one of Washington DC’s largest spectator events, the energy-filled Parade runs for 10 blocks along iconic Constitution Avenue. Grand colorful helium balloons, elaborate floats, marching bands from across the country, celebrity entertainers and performers burst down the Parade route in a grand spectacle of music and showmanship seen only once a year during the Festival!

Bands from all over the world and of every style are encouraged to apply. The Festival is happy to consider Dance, Military, Drum Corps High Step, Traditional, Scottish, and more. Variety in marching band styles is an important ingredient to the overall parade presentation. The Festival welcomes applications from all types of bands, including middle school, high school, college, community, specialty bands and others. There are no age requirements for band members. Start planning to be apart of the upcoming National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade! Applications are due the December of the preceding year your group is applying for.
